Grammy-nominated Patrice Covington is spreading some holiday cheer with her latest release, “My Favorite Things.”
A soulful rendition of the Richard Rodgers’ classic, the single enlists help from Grammy-winning producer Keith Harris and is already the Top 10 Most Streamed and downloaded track on Play MPE’s Adult Contemporary Top 20 chart.
The Broadway star, who’s best known for her roles in The Color Purple, Motown: The Musical and Dreamgirls, has previously performed as a background vocalist with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Christina Aguilera, among others.
The Emmy award-winning actress and singer will also be making her TV debut in NatGeo’s anthology series, Genius: Aretha. Covington will portray Erma Franklin, an American Gospel singer, activist and elder sister to Aretha Franklin.
