Rising Irish artist Luz recently revealed the music video for her latest single, “the author,” released via Platoon. Shot in Northern Ireland, the video was directed by Imogen Harrison, who has worked with the likes of The 1975, Liam Gallagher, Sam Fender and Jenny Beth, and My Accomplice.
A portrayal of falling in love with your best friend, the video stars Lola Petitcrew and Maya O’Shea. “It’s a song about patience and love, regardless of circumstance and hope that fate with one day bring them together,” shared Luz.
With over 700k monthly Spotify listeners, the single has already reached 1m+ streams on the platform. Within the last year, the half Irish and half Argentinian musician has released two other singles, “i’m lonely” and “we’ll be fine,” amassing over 13m streams across DSPs and garnering praise from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Julia Michaels, Lewis Capaldi, Niall Horan and more.
