WHAT IT IS: The musical endeavor of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Davis, BAD VEINS has been rising on the music radar since the mid-2000s. What began as an indie power-pop project best described as an opulent hodgepodge of sounds and aesthetics, the Cincinnati-based artist received the Target Music Maker award for Best Emerging Artist at the Tribeca Film Festival and the CMJ Breakout Act award before taking an extended hiatus from touring and releasing his eponymous debut LP and follow up, The Mess Remade. Now, Davis has returned with his latest full-length release Imposter, channeling lush soundscapes, stately arrangements and electronic textures.
