WHAT IT IS: Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Hamilton Leithauser has spent much of his life surrounded by music. Previously a member of The Recoys and indie rock band The Walkmen, with whom he recorded seven albums, Leithauser dropped his debut solo album, Black Hours, in 2014. His latest LP, The Loves of Your Life, is a collection of stories about real people he’s met over his years living in NYC. Written and produced over the past three years in his home studio, The Struggle Hut, the new album bridges the old and new in a nostalgic way. It’s Leihauser’s first project since 2016’s critically acclaimed I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, created with Rostam Batmanglij, formerly of Vampire Weekend.
