Tyler, The Creator hosted his eighth annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival at L.A.’s Dodger Stadium over the weekend. The lineup, curated by Tyler himself, featured breakout artists like Clairo, Dominic Fike, Omar Apollo, BROCKHAMPTON, and Taco. Fans were able to live-stream the performances via Twitch Music.
Since its 2012 inception, Camp Flog Gnaw (formerly known as Odd Future Carnival) has grown at a rapid pace, outgrowing its past venue at L.A.’s Exposition Park. The success of the festival is a tribute to Tyler’s growth as a rapper/singer/songwriter, producer, fashion designer and, most recently, Wall Street Journal’s Innovator of the Year.
Other notable performers from the two-day festival included Summer Walker, Solange, Tyler, the Creator, H.E.R., FKA Twigs, Goldlink and YG, among others.
While many fans speculated that Frank Ocean might be the surprise headliner, Tyler instead brought out A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert and Drake, who subsequently left the stage before his set was finished.
Drama aside, Camp Flog Gnaw continues to bring together top-notch performers to the carnival-like festival for a one-of-a-kind experience. Pictured below—after indulging in an array of craft, deep-fried desserts that we’ve never heard of—are HITS’ Marina Khechumian (L) and Ranya Khoury (R) with RCA’s H.E.R., who has coincidentally never heard of HITS.
