Mad Decent’s Valentino Khan transformed L.A.’s 1720 into a pro wrestling arena on the 8/7 release event for new EP House Party, which dropped on 8/9. Between matches in a wrestling ring directly in front of the DJ deck and surprise guests like Flosstradamus, Phantoms, and 12th Planet, the night was a knockout. Or, to use a more thematically appropriate metaphor, an inverted body slam.
L.A.-based DJ/producer Khan started his career in 2012, making music for hip-hop artists such as T.I., 2 Chainz and B.o.B. After co-producing Major Lazer’s 2013 single “Bubble Butt,” Khan began releasing his own trap-oriented originals. His “Deep Down Low” even earned him the “Most played Track” of the year among DJs in 2015, reported by 1001tracklist.
Khan has since collaborated with the likes of Skrillex, Flosstradamus and Wiwek, among others. House Party brings features from Chris Lorenzo, Wuki and Mad Decent’s own Diplo. Check out House Party below.
