NIKI (88rising/12Tone Music)
4/22/19

WHAT IT IS: At only 20 years old, the Indonesian R&B artist has already achieved global recognition as “the Internet’s favorite R&B princess” (Noisey). Since the release of her breakout EP, Zephyr, last spring, she’s earned critical acclaim from the likes of Billboard, Highsnobiety, Pitchfork, Nylon and Clash, among many others. Amassing 113m+ streams globally to date, NIKI has slammed the door on teen-pop conventions—writing, recording and producing her music on her own. Her remarkable versatility and genre-bending artistry have galvanized fans across the globe. She supported superstar Halsey on her Asia leg, played the 88rising Head in the Clouds Festival and toured North America this past fall. NIKI closed out the year as one of Complex’s Best New Artists of 2018. Building atop her recent successes, she makes her 2019 return with “move!”—the focus track from her upcoming EP, produced by Jordan Palmer (Khalid, Allie X) and John Hill (Rihanna, Florence + the Machine, Santigold, Charli XCX).
