WHAT IT IS: The producer-turned-rapper has been co-signed by some of the biggest artists in the game, from inking a deal with The Weeknd’s XO Records to befriending and collaborating with Lil Uzi Vert and producing Drake’s Grammy-nominated diss track, “Back to Back” (2015), as well as producing and being featured on Travis Scott’s “beibs in the trap.” The Toronto native has quietly ascended from the days of a few hundred SoundCloud streams to ones filled with more than three billion global streams and 350m+ YouTube views. His 2017 album, NAV, has been certified gold, and he’s gone platinum with multiple songs from that project. Bad Habits debuted at #1 on the Top 200 chart and became the #1 streaming album with 80m first-week streams in the U.S. On top of that, its 155m worldwide streams easily made it one of the biggest hip-hop debuts of the year.
