WHAT IT IS: Born Tyler Jamal Brown, Tyla Yaweh left Orlando for Los Angeles in 2015 to pursue his musical aspirations. The 23-year-old has since made a strong name for himself within the industry, showcasing his performance skills with support slots on multiple sold-out North American and European tours, notably linking up with Post Malone, SAINt JHN and Yung Pinch. His recent collaborations include work with French Montana, Post Malone, SAINt JHN, Ski Mask the Slump God and Juice WRLD. 2018’s “She Bad” music video premiered on Complex with 1m first-week views, and his debut project on Epic has garnered more than 15m streams worldwide since its release in February. Heavily influenced by R&B, hip-hop, pop and rock, Yaweh effortlessly blends genres, creating a unique sound that makes him one of this year’s artists to watch.
