WHAT IT IS: Growing up in a small town outside of St. Louis, MO, the 17-year-old didn’t expect his covers on Instagram to eventually earn him more than 1m followers within a year. He’s now an aspiring pop singer/songwriter based in L.A., whose multifaceted range was highlighted in first original single “Used to Be,” which recently surpassed 30m+ streams. His debut EP, Hopeful, soon followed, broadening his sound and touching on various subjects that ranged from relationships to the burgeoning freedom of being young—all familiar to the charismatic teen. In 2019, Mitchell will continue to push this message through writing and content. Single “All My Friends Are Falling in Love” is due 3/1, while a full-length debut is expected later this year.
