LET'S MEDITATE
9/21/18

For L.A. yoga teacher Alex Dawson, teaching classes and private lessons aren’t the only thing occupying her schedule lately. Set for release on 10/5, Om Mani Pedme Hum is a three-song meditation EP by Dawson, featuring guitarist Matt Piper and produced by John von Seggern. The latter's work includes programming on Jon Hassell’s recent Warp Records' album Listening to Pictures and a popular Indian-style remix of Nelly Furtado’s “Like a Bird.”

In addition to the single “Om Mani Padme Hum,” the EP also includes two other two Sanskrit mantras, “Gopala” and “Jai Hanuman.” After meeting von Seggern and Piper, Dawson notes, “I fell in love with the collaboration and how the mantras came to life.”

A free EP release event will take place on Sunday (10/7) at noon and will feature an hour-long Kirtan session at the Wanderlust Hollywood after Soulscape. For other information and details, click here.

Namaste, buddies.
