SoundCloud recently announced their collaboration with Pioneer DJ’s DJM-REC, a recording tool that allows artists, DJs and podcasters to record, upload and share content directly to SoundCloud using the app. By allowing artists to efficiently create and archive mixes from iPhones and iPads, DJM-REC is offering SoundCloud creators a simple way to share directly to the platform.
Being the world’s largest music streaming catalogue and audio platform, it should come as no surprise that so many of today’s artists launched their careers through it. From Lorde to Post Malone, Disclosure, and Kehlani, SoundCloud has been a popular hub for up and coming artists since 2008. While it’s a great place to discover emerging talent, established artists and creators have been utilizing the platform as a host for remixes, podcasts and even rap disses. This new collaboration makes it easier for them to start creating and uploading content.
SoundCloud creators are connected to DJM series mixers through the app, which is equipped with the send/return feature; high-quality audio recording that minimizes clipping and distortion, post-production mixing capabilities, tracklist editing and more.
With a 180m+ tracks from newcomers and well-known artists alike, the content comes directly from creators, ensuring a more personalized user experience for everyone. Users that are on SoundCloud’s premium subscriptions—SoundCloud Pro and SoundCloud Pro Unlimited— have more upload time to utilize DJM-REC, ranging from 360 minutes to no limit at all (versus the 180 minutes SoundCloud allows on their free version).
Pioneer DJ’s DJM-REC is offering a 30-day free trial period for curious users and can be downloaded and purchased from the Apple App Store for $9.99 after that.
