CROATIA'S HALF DREAMS
7/28/18

British Columbia’s Croatia recently dropped a five-track EP, titled Half Dreams, that pays homage to 80s pop tradition while adding the band’s own modern, dark spin. This is the second EP from the synth quartet, but the first featuring new lead vocalist Justin Campbell.

Through a “Cinderella Story-esque” chance meeting, Campbell joined band members Steve Mitchell, Matt Dell and Ben Erikson for a temporary collaboration after their vocalist’s departure. Their immediate chemistry, however, landed Campbell a permanent spot in Croatia.

Title track “Half Dreams” is the first song the group wrote together, focusing on the concept of a half-dream, half-reality experience where the future is a mystery. This idea was a catalyst for the rest of the EP, creating a laidback vibe made whole by soothing vocals and intriguing melodic lines.

The dark pop EP is not one to miss and can be streamed below.
