WHAT IT IS: The singer/songwriter and producer from Easton, Maryland, studied at NYU’s Clive Davis Program, where, during her last semester, she met and played what later became her debut single, “Alaska,” to Pharrell. The video of his reaction and incredibly positive feedback went viral, as did “Alaska,” which appeared on the Spotify Viral 50 in 43 countries (#1 in 23). Her music combines folk music influences with dance music to create a unique and emotional sound.
