Mickey Guyton (Capitol Nashville)
5/10/16

WHAT IT IS: Music remained a constant in this Texas native’s nomadic life, as she moved around the Lone Star state for her father’s engineering job. She began singing gospel in church at five years old and grew up listening to a variety of artists, including Dolly Parton, LeAnn Rimes, Whitney Houston and gospel innovators BeBe and CeCe Winans. In 2011, Mickey signed to Capitol Nashville and made her first appearance on stage for PBSIn Performance at the White House series. Last year, Mickey released her self-titled debut EP and her debut single, “Better Than You Left Me,” which broke Country Aircheck’s record with the most one-week adds for a debut act’s first single. Mickey was recently nominated for her first ACM Award for New Female Vocalist and has appeared on many Who to Watch lists, including ones by NPR, Rolling Stone and Spotify.
