WHAT IT IS: Following the release of breakout single “Say It,” which peaked at #1 at Urban radio, this rising singer/songwriter/rapper/producer capped off a banner 2015 with the release of two mixtapes—Chixtape III and The New Toronto. The year also saw collaborations with Chris Brown, Meek Mill and more, as well as the release of his critically acclaimed Cruel Intentions EP, a collaboration with tastemaker L.A. label WEDIDIT, which features production from RL Grime, Baauer and Shlohmo. Signed to multiplatinum producer Benny Blanco’s Interscope imprint Mad Love, Lanez’s debut album is set for release this year.
