HITS' own Jesse Beer (CliprKid) and Naomi Robin (RockinRobin) jump on the web to discuss the newest adds on the radio charts this week, and you've got an inside look at their chat. Find out what's hot on their radar.
RockinRobin: Dude! Cage The Elephant got their 6th #1 with “Mess Around”!! Happy to see my fav song topping both Alternative and AAA
CliprKid: Speaking of big records, can we discuss the Empire of The Sun record which is exploding 7 years after it’s release? It just re-debuted on the Alt charts and is #4 on Shazam. All due to a genius placement in a new Honda commercial
RockinRobin: It truly breathed new life into the song. Florence’s latest single, “Delilah” just charted on ALT and AAA. It’s hitting me much stronger than her previous tracks
CliprKid: Yes. I really like it, her voice is amazing
RockinRobin: My fav Aussie boys Wolfmother are back on the Active Rock charts with “Victorious.” Give it some time and I bet it’ll get a TON of syncs. They always do
CliprKid: It’s good to have some real rock on the radio
RockinRobin: Indeed. In the pop world, Selena’s “Hand To Myself” just hit Rhythm at 38. Her last single peaked at #5 on this format but I think this one is poised to hit #1
CliprKid: I just think this one has a much bigger hook than Same Old Love and that song was and still is a monster. Her songs keep getting sexier and sexier…
RockinRobin: The racier, the better. Posner just returned to Rhythm “I Took A Pill in Ibiza.” After getting airplay in San Fran, it blew up on the NorCal Shazam charts hitting #1 in every market and is already #7 on the iTunes Top 100 USA chart. It’s a smash
CliprKid: Yes, should be noted that this is the Seeb Remix version. Sounds like a smash!
RockinRobin: I first heard it when he played a stripped down version at UCLA 2 years ago. Amazing to watch the song’s trajectory since he first wrote it. Anyway, I gotta go take some pills, not feeling too well today.
CliprKid: Go get some rest and let's chat again next week
