WHAT IT IS: The South London-based grime MC of Ghanaian heritage launched his career clashing at youth clubs around his hometown. He was thrust into the limelight when he snagged third place on BBC’s prestigious Sound of 2015 poll. He went on to win Best Grime Act at 2014 MOBO Awards and International Artist at this year’s BET Awards, and is nominated for three MOBOs this year. He’s already broken a world record by charting at #18 with his “WickedSkengMan 4” freestyle—the first freestyle to ever chart in the UK.
