WHAT IT IS: Jordan Asher, known as BOOTS, is an American record producer, singer/songwriter, rapper and musician. He first gained recognition in 2013 for his significant contributions to Beyoncé’s fifth studio album, and recently worked with Run the Jewels and FKA Twigs. He describes himself as “a weird, kind of eclectic and avant-garde dude who loves pop music, because it can transcend what we think pop is now.” NPR’s Bob Boilen shared, “BOOTS is the most interesting new artist I’ve heard in 2015.”
