WHAT IT IS: This sparkling, stirring nu-funk/soul duo calls New York City home. John Thomas, a singer/songwriter hailing from Martha’s Vineyard, had initially paired with Grammy-nominated producer Chris Liggio to work on a solo record. The two realized there was more brewing than a standalone project and formed a fast friendship, which has since morphed into brotherhood and a brand new musical endeavor.
