CHART CHAT
11/4/15

HITS' own Jesse Beer (CliprKid) and Naomi Robin (RockinRobin) jump on the web to discuss the newest adds on the radio charts this week, and you've got an inside look at their chat. Find out what's hot on their radar.

RockinRobin: Hello? I was wondering if you’ve heard the new Adele song

CliprKid: Wait, she has a new song?

RockinRobin: Oh hush! Everyone and their mother has been playing it non-stop for the last two weeks. It’s charting on Alt, the ACs, AAA, and jumped up 14 spots on Top 40 within the last week!

CliprKid: Of course I have... and I must say, very clever way to start the conversation. The track is gorgeous and the #1 most Shazam'd in the country.

RockinRobin: Some weasels think she’ll beat *NSYNC’s record of 2.4 mil in sales...

CliprKid: Wouldn’t surprise me. She's great and appeals to multiple demographics. Let's focus on another artist making her way up the Top 40 charts: Ariana Grande. My favorite part of the song is Jamie Foxx, which was kind of a kept secret until recently

RockinRobin: It’s hard to me to "focus" on Grande when one of my fav bands, Weezer, is back on the airwaves with “Thank God For Girls.” It’s already #22 on Alt with the help of Crush Music’s killer promo team. I’m loving their evolved sound!

CliprKid: Weezer is just one of those timeless acts, always reinventing themselves to stay relevant, and Rivers Cuomo is a great songwriter.

RockinRobin: Not to mention an incredible live performer! One of the highlights of my entire life was singing on stage with them last October *sigh*

CliprKid: Hope you didn't mess around..

RockinRobin: Ha. Very punny! I'm assuming you're referring to Cage The Elephant's new alt debut, “Mess Around.” It's actually my favorite track of theirs to date

CliprKid: Right? It's so good

RockinRobin: Speaking of bands I’ve shared a stage with, I love the new Grizfolk track via Virgin/Capitol that just hit Alternative. It's reminiscent of the Black Keys, and I strongly believe it has the potential to rise to the top of the chart

CliprKid: You're such a troublemaker always hanging out with the artists. In all seriousness though, I really do like the song

RockinRobin: I’m also enamored with Megan Trainor’s pop ballad “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” (feat. John Legend) that debuted on Rhythmic this week. Not sure why it landed there now, since the track’s been building momentum with 70m views on YT since July, but I ain’t complaining

CliprKid: It'll probably assist the song, since it's already been gaining traction. It’s beautiful and kind of a departure from her super poppy songs. How about Biebs' new song, "Sorry?" It's already #5 Most Shazam'd pop song and #10 overall

RockinRobin: I think it's safe to say he's back on top. The track, like Adele's "Hello," also climbed 14 spots at Top 40 this week

CliprKid: Good point. I'm all out of puns for today. Catch ya next week
