HITS' own Jesse Beer (CliprKid) and Naomi Robin (RockinRobin) jump on the web to discuss the newest adds on the radio charts this week, and you've got an inside look at their chat. Find out what's hot on their radar.
CliprKid: Hey buddy, it’s good to have you back
RockinRobin: Thanks. It's nice to be a semi-functioning human again.
CliprKid: Let’s dive right in. Since you were out, we didn’t get to discuss the new single from MKTO, “Bad Girls,” which is a great song and seems to be gaining some traction
RockinRobin: I love hearing them on Top 40. They deserve the spotlight. Did you see their performance with Taylor Swift? #killedit
CliprKid: Well I didn’t actually see it, but I saw the picture of them with Taylor... pretty amazing. Fans seems to really like them. They're already up to #57 on the Top 100 on Shazam.
RockinRobin: Dayum. Their writing partner, Evan Bogart, turned me on to them back when I was at UCLA. They’ve come a long way since then.
CliprKid: Yes major props to Eman and Evan!
RockinRobin: Mhhhm. Speaking of Top 40, Afrojack's "SummerThing!" just debuted and stole my heart. (Get it?)
CliprKid: Yes. Love the song and kudos to Sterling Simms and his hot new artist, Mike Taylor, who's featured on the track.
RockinRobin: Moving on to Rhythmic... My fav song by The Weeknd, "The Hills," FINALLY debuted
CliprKid: Yes, been obsessed with that song, and it’s not just me. It’s #9 Pop and #10 on Top 100 at Shazam. The Weeknd is just dominating.
RockinRobin: Yeah, I’m dying to see him live. I'm also really digging Tame Impala's new single, “Let It Happen," which just hit AAA. It'd be the perfect soundtrack to a weekend at Outside Lands. I wish I weren't broken so I could go see them... *sigh*
CliprKid: Ya, so many people I know are obsessed with them. They're a little too dreamy for me, though.
RockinRobin: That's because you're straight edge. You needa open your mind, brah.
CliprKid: Or light one up...
RockinRobin: My point exactly ;)
CliprKid: Before we wrap this up, we need to talk about Halsey, who finally cracked the Alternative chart. Had been spinning on Beats 1.
RockinRobin: She owes Zane a giant gift basket.
CliprKid: Is she the next Lorde? I guess we will have to wait and see.
RockinRobin: I'm gonna hit my pain meds in the meantime.
CliprKid: Hope your ribs get better.
RockinRobin: Thanks! See you soon.
CliprKid: Peace
