LILI K'S CHICAGO UPRISING
5/7/15

TIDAL has kicked off their emerging artist program, "TIDAL Rising," and put the spotlight on Chicago jazz chanteuse Lili K, who has collaborated with Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa among others, plus had everybody seriously buzzing after her blazing performance at this year's SXSW. Lili's soul/jazz infusion on the new album RUBY is refreshingly modern and cool; reminiscent and right up there in dope factor with some of Jill Scott's earliest work. Subscribers can also see her featured in the video series "Where I'm From," taking you through some of her favorite haunts like record store Audio Archeology and her history with second hand stores. Even if you're not a hardcore jazz head her music is definitely worth seeking out-- songs like "Pour Some Shuga" and "Know Enough" are serious jams.
