FRENCH IS NO FOOL
4/1/15

If anyone actually reads my undeniably gluten-free, kale-steeped spew of trendy bologna, you may recall a mention of Young Forever/Interscope recent signing Jason French a few months back. Including a SoundCloud embed, I referred to his debut single, "You Just Want My Money" (above), as a reggae-infused pop track that simulates the sensation of wiggling your toes in the sand. What else could you possibly need from a song as global warming continues to rear its ugly head and we Angelenos end winter with 90+ degree days?

So, if you find that you can't trust me (and you shouldn't), consider letting the power of social media influence you. The light-hearted earworm earned 5m Spotify streams within a month of its online release in December, and recently surpassed 7m. When I last wrote, the vine hashtag & audio for #youjustwantmymoney had surpassed 40m impressions and had been re-Vined over 300k times. It has since DOUBLED in impressions. Talk about impressive...

Word has it that French's debut album is currently in the works. While you wait, you can catch him on tour with Warner Bros.' Nico & Vinz, who made radio their bitch last summer, hitting #1 at Top 40, AC and Hot AC and #2 at Rhythm with "Am I Wrong." Dates are listed below.
