WHAT IT IS: The fast-rising L.A.-based pop/rock quintet just released their debut EP, executive produced by industry mogul Randy Jackson and produced by Gavin Brown (Lady Gaga, Three Days Grace, Barenaked Ladies). North of Nine is the brainchild of 18-year-old singer/songwriter, frontman and keyboardist Jackson Guthy, and is rounded out by drummer Rob Ketchum, guitarist Michael O’Grady, bassist Edison Lo and keyboardist Nolan Frank.
