WHAT IT IS: The Miami native was raised in a musical family; his father and uncle were founding members of the legendary reggae band Inner Circle, who scored a Top 10 hit with “Bad Boys.” Eventually his own talent led him to write for Meek Mill, Ace Hood and P. Diddy. He soon found himself writing for Nicki Minaj, Fifth Harmony and Jessie J. Impressed by the single “Bills” and Lunch’s facility for undeniable pop melodies, Dr. Luke and his team at Kemosabe offered him a recording contract. Now, he’s looking forward to launching his own career as an artist. “I want to write about honest things with real emotion,” he says. “I want people to remember me for doing dope shit.”
