WHAT IT IS: Across the pond, the breakout 19-year-old pop sensation started her journey to fame as a contestant on The X Factor. After finishing in sixth place, Ella immediately signed to Simon Cowell’s SYCO to write and record her first album, which debuted at #1 on the U.K. album chart in 2014 and in the Top 10 across 40 countries. Upon U.S. release, it shot to #5 on the iTunes charts. The album contains her international hit “Ghost,” the fastest-selling debut from a U.K. artist, and held the second-biggest U.K. radio audience in one week. Ella has brilliantly transitioned to the U.S., showcasing her powerhouse vocals with 14 major U.S. TV performances of “Ghost,” a now-platinum stateside single and smash hit at Pop radio.
