UMPG INKS CARIN LEÓN
11/6/23

UMPG has inked award-winning singer-songwriter Carin León to an exclusive, global publishing agreement.

The Sonora-born artist has become a leading force in the Música Mexicana scene. With hits like “Ni Me Debes Ni Te Debo,” “Te Lo Agradezco” and “Me Haces Tan Bien,” León earned a Latin Grammy in 2022 for “Como Lo Hice Yo,” which took home Best Regional Song, while his latest full-length, Colmillo de Leche, is up for Best Norteño Album this year.

The 18-track album also landed Top 10 on the Top Latin Albums and Mexican Album charts, while several of its tracks soared on Spotify’s Global charts, including “Primera Cita.”

“Carin León’s career is limitless and transcends Música Mexicana,” said UMPG Chairman/CEO, Jody Gerson. “I look forward to working with Jorge Juarez and our entire global team to support Carin as he opens doors creatively across musical genres and geographies.”

“There is no doubt, Carin León is one of the most talented artists currently,” added Yadira Moreno, UMPG managing director of Mexico and Central America & VP of new business development for Latin America. “We are excited to collaborate with Carin and foster his composing career internationally.”

“This partnership marks a thrilling new chapter in my career, and I’m eagerly looking forward to expressing my passion and creativity through the art of music,” shared León.

León has collaborated with the likes of Maluma (on the recent hit "Según Quién"), C. Tangana, Mau y Ricky, Kany Garcia,Grupo Frontera and Camilo, as well as co-written Grupo Firme’s hit “El Tóxico.” Most recently, he wrapped up his biggest trek yet, selling more than 400k tickets on his 38-date Colmillo de Leche Tour across the U.S.
