KNOX UPPED TO PEERMUSIC NASHVILLE PREZ
10/19/22

Michael Knox has been promoted to president of peermusic Nashville, where he'll report to President/COO Kathy Spanberger.

Knox, also a veteran music producer, joined the pubco in 2010 and previously served as SVP. He's produced 28 #1 singles, including Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood’s “If I Didn’t Love You,” which is nominated for Music Event of the Year at the upcoming CMA Awards and won Single of the Year at the ACMs. Additional production credits include Kelly Clarkson, Trace Adkins, Ludacris, Luke Byran, Eric Church and Hank Williams Jr.

The privately owned music publishing company operates 38 offices in 31 countries and boasts over 500k titles in its catalog. Under Knox's leadership, peermusic published the 2016 SESAC Country Song of the Year with Dierks Bentley—“Somewhere on a Beach” (co-written by Michael Tyler and Jaron Boyer)—and the 2013 ASCAP Song of the Year with Randy Houser—“How Country Feels” (co-written by Neil Thrasher and Vicky McGehee), among others.

Knox also operates Music Knox Records with BBR Music Group/BMG, hosts the nationally syndicated radio show Knox Country 360 and was selected by the Academy of Country Music as a first-time nominee for “National Weekly On-Air Personality of the Year” along with co-host Shalacy Griffin. We have never been chosen as Personality of the Year by anyone, but that may have something to do with our total lack of personality.
