UMPG Latin has inked Latin Urban artist Calacote to an exclusive global publishing deal. The 22-year-old also marks the debut signing of MAFFIO’s ALKATRAKS Music Group.
As part of the deal, Calacote—who writes and performs in Spanish, French and English—will have the opportunity to collaborate with UMPG’s composers in all three languages.
“Calacote represents a new sound within the Latin urban community. UMPG is thrilled to sign a multi-lingual talent like him with truly global potential as both a songwriter and an artist,” said Alexandra Lioutikoff, President, US Latin & Latin America, UMPG.
“Calacote is energetic, versatile and a fresh new prospect in Latin Music. We’re excited to join Calacote’s team and welcome him to UMPG,” added Ana Rosa Santiago, VP, Latin Music, UMPG.
“This marks an exciting chapter in my career, and I am excited to have the opportunity to collaborate creatively with UMPG’s writers in the U.S. and abroad as well to develop commercially with Alexandra’s and Ana Rosa’s input,” shared Calacote.
On 1/14, Calacote will drop his third single “Intercambio,” which follows his debut single “Azafata” with MAFFIO and the Kiko el Crazy-assisted “Bruja.” His debut album is slated arrive later this year.
