Guy Moot and Carianne Marshall’s Warner Chappell enjoyed a bumper 2021. With A&R hitter Ryan Press promoted to President, North America, the team added an array of top acts to its roster, notably Cardi B, Anderson .Paak, Sam Smith (via Tim & Danny Music), Jhene Aiko, Travis Barker, Alesso and Central Cee. They also re-upped gigundo deals with the likes of Madonna, Led Zeppelin, Bruno Mars, the George Michael Estate and Belly.

The company won Pubco of the Year at ASCAP Pop, while the Ben Vaughn-helmed Nashville division took its fourth consecutive BMI Publisher of the year and won SESAC Pubbery of the Year to boot. Song of the Year trophies from BMI, ASCAP and SESAC abounded. WCM also celebrated BRITs wins for J Hus (Male Solo Artist) and Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia album (with contributions from pubco writers Ian Kirkpatrick, Tove Lo, Sarah Hudson, Julia Michaels, Irving Wallman, Max Wartell, Michael Hutchence, Kennedi Lykken and Justin Tranter), which also earned a Grammy for Pop Vocal Album. Dan + Shay took Country Duo/Group and Dua Lipa’s AOTY winner Future Nostalgia featured nine of the pubbery’s writers, while hitters Laura Veltz, Liz Rose, Ashley Monroe contributed to Miranda Lambert’s Country Album winner Wildcard.

Add oodles of recent Grammy noms to the mix and you have a Team WCM that’s raring to go in 2022.
