Sony Music Publishing’s Latin team took home Publisher of the Year at the SESAC Latin Music Awards for the sixth consecutive year.
Maintaining its leading spot with twelve top-performing songs, SMP Songwriter Manuel Turizo was among the big winners for the night, taking home Songwriter of the Year for Pop/Latin Rhythm.
Other SMP honorees included Nicky Jam, Julian Turizo, Lenny Tavarez and Juan Diego Medina.
“I am enormously proud of our amazing writers and our incredible team for receiving this award for an unprecedented 6th consecutive time. I am so grateful to SESAC for this recognition and look forward to many more years working together towards our mutual goal of enriching our writers’ lives,” said Jorge Mejia, SMP President/CEO, Latin America and U.S. Latin.
Among the Latina Performance winning songs co-written by SMP songwriters were “Muevelo” by Jam and Daddy Yankee, “La Nota” by Turizo, Rauw Alejandro and Myke Towers, “Bichota” by Karol G, “TBT” by Sebastián Yatra, Alejandro and Turizo, “La Pared 360” by Lenny Tavárez and Justin Quiles, "Relación" by Sech and more.
