A VERY GOOD PARTNERSHIP WITH SMP
4/26/21

Sony Music Publishing has partnered with Stockholm-based company The Very Good Music Publishing to further support its catalogue and expand international opportunities for its roster of songwriters.

Songwriter/producers Julia Karlsson and Anton Rundberg, who crafted Tiesto’s chart-topper, “The Business,” recently joined The Very Good roster, which includes Hilda Stenmalm, Moa Pettersson Hammar, Gustav Nyström, Kristin Carpenter, Martin Stilling and Rasmus Budny, who have worked with artists like BTS, Sting, , Alan Walker and Ava Max, among others.

“We’ve been working closely with Jakob for over a decade now with Noonie Bao, and recently Linus Wiklund, so this is a natural step for us. We are honoured and excited to welcome The Very Good to the Sony Music Publishing family,” said Johnny Tennander, SMP MD, Scandinavia and SVP, A&R, Europe.

“After having worked with Sony over the full life of The Very Good/Vivstilo, we have developed a terrific relationship, and it feels like we're coming home,” added Jakob Emtestam, Founder, The Very Good.

Prior to launching The Very Good’s publishing arm, which was established two years ago by Director of Operations Manne Björkman, VP of A&R Holly Astera and Partner/VP of A&R Dan Karlström, the company secured co-writes on global hits like Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s “Señorita,” Zedd & Alessia Cara’s “Stay,” Rita Ora’s “Let You Love Me” and more.

The Very Good Publishing is part of The Very Good AB—previously known as Vivstilo—which was founded by Jakob Emtestam in 2011 and has become a top management company in Scandinavia.
