A LEGENDARY WRITING CAMP
8/19/20

UMPG China and Riot Games China recently partnered to host an esports-themed songwriting camp. The camp included 14 UMPG songwriters and resulted in six songs produced for promotional use for the upcoming 2020 League of Legends World Championship.

Held from 7/24-7/27 in GUM Studio Shanghai, songwriters included GMA’s Best Band winner Matzka, GMA-nominee Gong and Chuang 2020’s CHIYO, as well as Moi Yang, NIA Yang, Tian Mi, JunFeng Xiao, Rtruenahmean, JZlee, Daniel Kim, Dru Chen, Laird Yu, Chris Lyon and Rabitt, who participated both in the studio and virtually.

Joe Fang, Managing Director of UMPG China said, “I am honored to be partnering with Riot Games on this initiative to create songs to win the heart and mind of the Chinese esport community and celebrate this world-renowned event. It showcases a valued mechanism of producing quality music for institutional users.”

Most recently, Shanghai Municipal Government and Riot Games announced that the 10th annual League of Legends World Championship will take place entirely in Shanghai this year. Kicking off on 9/25, the final game takes place on 10/31in Pudong Football Stadium.

“When music meets and mixes with gaming, it is simply exciting. I look forward to empowering and celebrating the 10th World Championship of League of Legends with music of power and of various styles, through working with UMPG, shared Leo Lin, Head of Riot Games China.
