Sony/ATV, in partnership with Travis Scott's Cactus Jack Publishing, has inked multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated producer WondaGurl to a global co-publishing deal.
Known for her work in the hip-hop and R&B scene, she's produced songs like Scott’s “Antidote,” “No Bystanders” and “Can’t Say,” Pop Smoke’s “Christopher Walking” and “Aim for the Moon” f/Quavo and Don Toliver’s platinum single “No Idea,” among many others.
She's also worked with artists like Rihanna, Drake JACKBOYS, Bryson Tiller, Lil Uzi Vert, SZA and more.
Additionally, the Canadian-born producer is one of the youngest women to add production to a platinum-selling hip hop album for her work on Jay-Z’s 2013 album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
“WondaGurl has been an incredible producer for years while shattering glass ceilings for women in music and entertainment. I am incredibly excited to sign WondaGurl as I have been passionate about her talent for years – Sony/ATV and Cactus Jack have just been enriched tremendously.“ says Sony/ATV Senior Director, Creative Jennifer Drake.
"The Cactus Jack team looks forward to powering the next phase of WondaGurl's incredible career through this publishing venture," shares David Stromberg, GM, Cactus Jack Publishing. WondaGurl adds, “I’m excited to work with everybody at Sony/ATV and Cactus Jack, both as a producer and executive.”
Hailing from Toronto, Canada, WondaGurl first garnered attention from top music producer Boi-1da after winning the 2012 Battle of the Beat Makers at 15.
Now, the Forbes' 30 Under 30 producer has several RIAA certifications, Grammy noms and chart-topping singles under her belt and she's entered a publishing JV with Sony/ATV and her company Wonderchild, which focuses on developing the next generation of producers, and has inked two longtime collaborators to her publishing imprint.
