Sony/ATV Music Publishing has named Dinraj Shetty Director, Sony/ATV India. The appointment arrives with the company’s expansion, as Shetty becomes the first leader in the newly established India office, located in Mumbai. Shetty will report to Sony/ATV President, International, Guy Henderson, who is located in London.
In his new role, Shetty will be responsible for managing all aspects of the office including promoting the company’s catalog, negotiating international agreements, signing and developing songwriters and fostering relationships with industry partners like Sony Music Entertainment India and IPRS. Shetty will also continue to serve as Director, Licensing at Sony Music.
Henderson shared, “Dinraj is a dynamic executive with a detailed understanding of media content across multiple platforms, genres and languages. His knowledge and business acumen will ensure that Sony/ATV Music Publishing India will be a success, and I am proud to welcome him to the team.”
Shetty added, “I am delighted with this new role of leading Sony/ATV India, where I will be looking at creating many opportunities to harness its creative fraternity of labels, musicians and songwriters.”
Sony/ATV SVP, International, Daniel Nelson said, “With Dinraj at the helm, spearheading our effort into this dynamic and evolving market, we believe we will create growth and creative opportunities for both promising local composers as well as our existing catalogue and songwriters.”
With over 20+ years of experience at Sony Music, Shetty has held various positions including Head of Sales and Retail Promotions, Head of Operations and Digital Sales & Business Development. Prior to joining the music industry, Shetty spent time at Godrej, Pernetti Van Melle & Marico.
