CALHOUN QUICKENS PULSE AS SVP/HEAD OF CREATIVE; EGAN TO EXIT
6/8/20

Ashley Calhoun has been upped to SVP/Head of Creative at Pulse Music Group, it was jointly announced by Co-CEOs Josh Abraham and Scott Cutler.

Calhoun (formerly Pulse VP) will succeed current President/Head of Creative Maria Egan, who announced she will exit the company after seven years for a new gig TBA.

Calhoun’s A&R track record includes the signing of such writer/producers as OZ (Drake, Travis Scott) and Starrah (co-writer of smashes by Megan Thee Stallion, Camila Cabello, Maroon 5 and more ), among others. In her new post she’ll oversee Pulse’s A&R crew and a pub roster that also includes Ty Dolla $ign, YBN Cordae, YBN Nahmir, Kehlani, OG Parker, Trevor Daniel and El-P, to name but a few.

“PULSE was built by songwriters for the modern songwriter culture and, with Ashley at the helm of our creative team, we know that PULSE will continue to be a world class incubator for culturally relevant songs,” reads a statement jointly issued by the Silver Lake music firm’s Abraham and Cutler (pictured here with Calhoun) who added that her daily allotment of hemp-infused Kombucha will be increased.

Congrats for Calhoun also came from Egan, who said “no one could be better to take the reins of the A&R team.”
