SONY/ATV EXPANDS INTO ATLANTA
4/29/20

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has opened a new office and studios in Atlanta and tapped A&R veteran Mike Jackson to run the operation with the title of Vice President, Creative.

Located in Buckhead, the Sony/ATV Atlanta office and studios will occupy the former RedZone Entertainment production complex.

“Atlanta has been a major part of my journey for 25 years, and the community there has fostered some of my strongest friendships and relationships in the business,” Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO Jon Platt said. “It is important that we give back to the city’s vibrant creative community. With this new office, we will offer the Atlanta music community special songwriter workshops and all of our best-in-class services.”

The Atlanta office will be the company’s fifth location within the United States.

Jackson, most recently Senior Executive Business Development Consultant for BeatRoot Music, will be responsible for managing the growth of the Atlanta A&R team, as well as fostering relationships with songwriters, producers and artists throughout the area. Among his signings to Sony/ATV are Bighead (Gucci Mane, Lil Pump) and Priority Beats (Lil Baby, Lil Tecca).

“I’ve worked closely with Mike previously, and I couldn’t be happier to reunite with him as we expand Sony/ATV’s presence into Atlanta,” Platt said. “Mike is a veteran A&R executive with a strong track record, and his expertise and leadership will be integral to our success.”

As a part of Sony/ATV’s songwriter and A&R services, the company will provide opportunities for Atlanta’s youth to learn the music publishing business through master classes and songwriter training workshops.
