Sony/ATV Music Publishing has inked a new partnership with music production marketplace BeatStars, providing global publishing and administration services to BeatStars’ community of songwriters, producers and artists as well as pitching original songs and beats for synchronization opportunities. With this partnership, Sony ATV will also offer its expedited foreign royalty payments feature, which gives songwriters and producers easier and faster access to their earnings.
Founded by Abe Batshon in 2008, Beatstars community includes over 2m creators discovering and selling music, beats, sound kits services and more. It’s also the source that enabled the creation of last year’s record-breaking hit single “Old Town Road,” by Lil Nas X. Beatstars has launched the careers of hit producers like Jetsonmade (DaBaby), Dystinkt Beats, CashMoneyAp, Menoh Beats and 808melobeats (Popsmoke). Since its inception, over $70m has been paid out to BeatStars’ clients.
“BeatStars has successfully created a new lane, fostering the collective talent of emerging songwriters and producers online, and we look forward to furthering this effort with Sony/ATV’s best-in-class service,” says Sony/ATV Chairman & CEO Jon Platt. Batshon adds, “At BeatStars, we have been the driving force in artist and producer collaboration online for over 11 years and we can't wait to work with Sony/ATV to help showcase the hardest working talent on our platform from all over the world.”
