PRIMARY WAVE PUB INHALES AIR SUPPLY CATALOG
2/19/20

Primary Wave has acquired a stake in the music publishing catalog and artist master royalty stream for the multi-platinum soft-rock band Air Supply.

Included in the deal are the award-winning duo's hit singles "All Out Of Love," "Lost In Love," and "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All," as well as their gold single "The One That You Love." Primary Wave will work closely with Air Supply to market their catalog and pitch licensing and sync opportunities.

Singer Russell Hitchcock's and songwriter Graham Russell met in 1975 while working on a production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Sydney, Australia. They performed as a duo in pizza parlors, coffee bars, and night clubs, gaining a reputation for great harmonies and original songs. CBS Records signed them, and the duo began touring, opening for Rod Stewart in Australia and North America. Following that tour they made the album Life Support, including the hit single "Lost in Love," which went Top 10 in Australia and found its way to the desk of Clive Davis. Davis immediately signed them to Arista, and in 1980 "Lost in Love" became the fastest-selling single in the world. They followed that up with the hit single "All Out of Love." Their albums have sold over 20m copies.

Russell and Hitchcock shared a joint statement, saying, "We are thrilled to share the future with the progressive and talented people at Primary Wave."

CEO & Founder of Primary Wave Music Publishing Larry Mestel added, "Graham and Russell have created some of the most memorable love power ballads in history. We couldn't be happier to welcome the band into the Primary Wave family."
