CAMACHO DOES THE WAVE
1/9/20

Primary Wave has anointed Angelica Camacho as VP Creative A&R. The former manager/A&R hitter at London’s TaP Music had been working at the pubbery for a few months before her announcement, during which time she inked Grammy-nominated artist/songwriter Jeremih and producer Anthony Jones (Ariana Grande).

PW Prexy Justin Shukat expressed his excitement, noting of Camacho: “We support her creative instincts and the company goal to grow our contemporary writing roster at Primary Wave. The signings of both Jeremih and Anthony Jones, who both had hit songs on the top of the radio charts this past fall, is a great way to start out the new year.”

Jeremih’s “On Chill with Wale was #1 at Rhythm and Urban radio. Jones co-produced Grande’s “Boyfriend” f/Social House, which snagged a Grammy nom for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

“I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity to bring my passion for execution and 'songs first' approach to Primary Wave," says Camacho, seen at right in this photo with manager Lydia Fissihaie and Jeremih. "I admire the team Justin and Jake have built and their creative first perspective that I believe is paramount to building long lasting careers. I'm excited to help grow a diverse, forward-thinking, and culturally relevant environment at Primary Wave.”

At TaP Music, Camacho worked with Hailee Steinfeld and Col3trane, among others; prior to that gig, she served at Unrestricted/SONGS, where she was involved in projects by Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Noah Cyrus, Chromeo and more.
