LOOKING TONED
10/22/19

Warner Chappell is celebrating a hot streak with a number of hot new acts—all inked under the new regime—notably chart-topper Lizzo, streaming breakout Summer Walker (whose album just bowed at #2) and Australian phenom Tones & I. We’ve spilled considerably ink over the first two, both of whom are likely Grammy contenders, but Tones is also deserving of mention for the major strides made by single “Dance Monkey,” a #1 hit in U.K. and various Euro territories as well as Down Under (where it’s 4x platinum); the beguiling groove is #1 track at Spotify Global, racking up nearly 223m global streams. (The Spot crew is eager to echo these plaudits. Global Hits Lead Becky Bass notes that its global editorial team communicated “across territories and genres,” and supported the cut early on playlists.) In any case, Moot-Marshall’s Ryan Press-led A&R team is crushing it.
