Nashville breakout and trophy magnet Maren Morris, whose “GIRL” recently became the first single by a female solo act to hit #1 at Country radio in 18 months, has inked an admin deal with Jody Gerson’s UMPG.
The singer/songwriter’s 2016 Columbia Nashville debut set, HERO, is platinum, while several singles have soared: “My Church” is double platinum, “80s Mercedes” and “I Could Use a Love Song” are platinum and the playful “Rich” is gold. Then came #1 Pop monster and Grammy-nominated Interscope smash “The Middle,” which she co-created with Zedd and Grey. Morris’ sophomore set, GIRL, had the biggest country streaming debut yet by a female artist. In between those milestones have been, you know, lots of CMAs and ACMs and other glittering initials.
