DOWNTOWN SIGNS SHAGGY TO WORLDWIDE DEAL
2/20/19

Downtown Music Publishing has signed Grammy-winning songwriter Shaggy to a worldwide publishing agreement.

The deal covers his entire catalog of 12 studio albums plus future releases. Shaggy's recent album with Sting, 44/876, won for Best Reggae album at last week's Grammy Awards—to the sheer delight of manager Martin Kierszenbaum.

The announcement also precedes the release of Shaggy's upcoming studio album Wah Gwaan?!, set to drop on 5/10 and featuring Jason Derulo along with dancehall sensation Shenseea and reggaeton artist Nikki Jam, among many others.

“Shaggy is a global icon with such a diverse catalog,” said Bruce Lampcov, Downtown’s Head of West Coast Business Development. “Transcending borders and genres, he has countless evergreen songs and his latest Grammy-winning album with Sting is a clear indication of many more good things to come. We are delighted he has chosen Downtown as his publishing partner.”
