Primary Wave Music has joined forces with independent music publishers Gary and Mark Davies, the owners of Good Groove Songs Publishing, acquiring their entire catalog. Since 1999, the pubbery has been home to tracks like All Saints' “Black Coffee” and Corinne Bailey Rae’s Grammy-nominated single “Put Your Records On,” as well as U.K. pop hits from artists like Kylie Minogue, James Morrison and Craig David.
With the new agreement in place, the Good Groove catalog joins recent acquisitions by Primary Wave, including Bob Marley, Sly and the Family Stone writer’s share of copyrights, Pete Waterman’s catalog and more. “The catalog of Good Groove is a fantastic collection of pop writers lovingly curated by Gary and Mark Davies,” says Janice Brock, Strategic Partner of Primary Wave Music Publishing. “Primary Wave is proud to become the new owners of such a high-quality slice of British pop music.” Brock then enjoyed several pints of quality lager and a Cornish pasty.
Davies adds, “It’s been a wonderful 18 years working with such talented writers and I can’t think of a better home for the Good Groove Songs catalog.”
