UMPG has inked U.K. rockers You Me At Six to a global pub deal, which begins with the band’s latest set, VI, and will carry on through future works. Four of the band’s singles reached #1 in the U.K. and five of its releases have hit the Top 10 in Blighty, with 2014’s Cavalier Youth bowing at #1.
The pubco’s U.K. MD, Mike McCormack, plugged his Flying V into a wall of Marshall amps, stomped on a distortion pedal and declared, “We are so chuffed to be working with YMAS and their great management team in Stefano [Anselmetti] and Colin [Schaverien] who we have a long-standing relationship with. It’s a brilliant, new, innovative record from them, packed full of cracking tunes.”
Seen just before throwing a flaming couch out of a hotel window and into the pool and then enjoying a lovely cuppa and some bickies are (l-r) Max Helyer, Prolifica Management’s Colin Schaverien, Chris Miller, UMPG A&R dude Dougie Bruce, Matt Barnes, Prolifica Management’s Alison Lamb, Josh Franceschi and Dan Flint.
