Downtown Music Publishing has signed a multi-territory admin deal with John Butler, Aussie indie artist and leader of the John Butler Trio. The deal will allow Downtown to administer more than 100 compositions from the band's catalog, including songs that have yet to be released.
The John Butler Trio recently released their seventh studio album, Home, which debuted at #1 on the Australian ARIA Album charts. This marked the group's fourth #1 album.
Commenting on the signing, Butler said "I'm stoked to start this new era with Downtown Music Publishing. I'm really looking forward to working with their talented team and sharing my new album Home as far and wide as possible."
Downtown's Creative Director and Head of Sync in Australia, Rachel Kelly, added "John Butler is an immensely talented artist, songwriter, musician and wonderful person. Home is a masterpiece—his finest songwriting to date. We're so honored that John has chosen Downtown to represent his music around the globe."
