Sony/ATV has inked a worldwide pub deal with Georgia-bred singer/songwriter John King.
King's own"Tonight Tonight" was a perennial on Thursday Night Football in 2014, and hit the radar at Pop radio; he co-penned the 2016 Country radio #1 "We Went" for artist Randy Houser, snagging his first ASCAP Songwriter Award. King's 2017 single "I Still Pick Up" has kicked up some dust at both Spotify and Apple Music, as has this year's follow-up, "Never Wanna Be,” garnering over 1m+ streams each. You can expect four more singles to be released consecutively from August until November, all of which are accompanied by music videos as part of a continuous storyline.
"Working with someone as gifted as John, and a team of quality people surrounding him makes for a winning combination," remarked SATV Nashville chief Troy Tomlinson shortly before reminding John to have nothing to do with us. Seen above pondering a brutal first down on the eight-year line are (front, l-r) Starstruck Entertainment's Berkley Myers, King and Tomlinson; and (back, l-r): Starstruck's Cliff Williamson and Narvel Blackstock, and SATV's Dane Schmidt and Josh Van Valkenburg.
