BLAKEMAN LAUNCHES ONE77 MUSIC, ADMIN DEAL WITH KOBALT
7/6/18

Industry veteran Jennifer Blakeman has launched the pubco one77 Music and has inked a global admin agreement with Kobalt Music. The company is fueled by VC from private equity firm Virgo Investment Group. NYC-based Blakeman will serve as President/COO.

one77 catalog includes works by Sam Hunt (“Body Like a Back Road”), Luke Bryan (“Crash My Party”), Jason Aldean (“A Little More Summertime”), Kenny Chesney and Pink (“Setting the World on Fire”), Nipsey Hussle f/Kendrick Lamar (“Dedication”), and Kelly Clarkson (“Mr. Know-It-All”), as well as compositions by Dr. Dre, Mike Posner, Jeremih, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, T.I., Meek Mill, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Weezer, Kelsea Ballerini, Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley and Ludacris.

Blakeman is one of the few women publishing heads in the current biz. She began her 30-year career as a Warner Bros. artist and touring musician (Billy Idol/Savage Garden/Brian Wilson) and served as a creative for Atlantic and Universal Pictures before moving on to publishing (UMPG/Atlas/Zomba). You can't hear it, but she accompanied the press release for her company with some cool keyboard pads.
