Jon Platt's Warner/Chappell Music has been awarded ASCAP's Publisher of the Year honors at ASCAP's 23rd Annual Latin Music Awards 3/6. This most-recent award may have had something to do with the pubco having 40 songs on the Latin charts in 2017, another feat that earned recognition at the ceremony.
WCM songwriters also picked up 12 ASCAP “Most Performed Song” awards, that went to the likes of Luis Oritz, The Dream and Farruko, among others.
“We are grateful to ASCAP for recognizing the creativity and accomplishments of our incredible Latin songwriters, who dominated the charts last year,” said Warner/Chappell Chairman & CEO Platt. “[President & CEO WCM Latin America] Gustavo [Menendez] and his team are nurturing an outstanding roster of talent, proving that by putting our songwriters first, we will continue to lead the industry.”
